This exercise is very quick; you only need one minute, and it allows you to recenter yourself at different times throughout the day.

Instructions

To practice this exercise naturally: start by counting the number of breaths (one breath = one inhalation + one exhalation) you take in one minute.

Then, several times a day: give your full attention to the sensations related to your breathing (freshness of the air on inhalation, the belly expanding and contracting, the ribs spreading and closing, the chest rising and falling…).

Whether it’s upon waking, at bedtime, before a meal, or at any other time, this exercise allows for rapid recentering and is an excellent training for longer practices.
